Job description

Job Summary:

This is a remote position requiring the ability to support a work-from-home environment effectively. Candidates must have a HIPAA-compliant work area free from distractions, with their own secure internet service of at least 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds. Applicants should provide a screenshot of their internet speeds with their resume and include their license number.

Responsibilities:

• Answer inbound phone calls, process cases and electronic authorizations, load authorizations, and make follow-up calls using courteous and professional behavior according to established standards.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all necessary information, including data entry, data management, and reporting within computer systems.

Experience:

• Review criteria-based prior authorizations following policy and procedure.
• Provide on-call after-hours nurse availability for urgent prior authorization requests.
• Support the PA team and member services department with internal nurse support.
• Refer cases not meeting clinical criteria to the Pharmacist and MD teams.
• Prioritize tasks with a high sense of urgency.
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and members.
• Follow all prior authorization procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Train and mentor team members on PA processes.
• Complete additional assignments as delegated by PA leadership.

Education:

The Licensed Practical Nurse must be a graduate of an approved Practical or Vocational Nursing program, accredited by the State Agency or the National League for Nursing (NLNAC) at the time of completion.
