Job summary

AltaMed Health Services Corp. in California seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. The LVN will take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, gather data, and administer medications within the LVN scope.

Ideal candidates hold a California LVN license, BLS certification, and may have IV or wound care experience. Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese) are valued depending on location.

Job Overview

The LVN provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician. The LVN tasks include vital signs, phlebotomy, gathering data, and medication administration. The LVN verifies medication for Medical Assistants within the LVN's scope of practice.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited LVN school with a current LVN license issued by the State of California, Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
• Preferred 1 year of providing patient care outpatient/inpatient, Skilled Nursing, Home Health, or clinic setting.
• IV certified preferred.
• Preferred wound care experience.
• Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental, and social needs of the patients.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

Pay for this job starts at $31.93 hourly
