Job summary

Altasciences in Cypress, CA seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to support clinical trial safety. The Clinical Safety Technician will safeguard participant well-being and ensure high safety standards during study conduct and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include safety assessments, IP administration, blood collection, adverse event follow-up, and mentoring the Clinical Operations team. A nurse with IV therapy and BLS/ACLS certs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree from accredited LVN/LPN program or EMT or equivalent.
• Related work experience preferred.
• IV Therapy Blood withdrawal certificate with LVN/LPN license; BLS and ACLS certificates.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Clinical Operations team members.
• Maintain confidentiality of participants and sponsors.
• Identify and communicate safety improvement opportunities to management.
• Perform safety assessments, IP administration, and blood collection.
• Monitor and document participant adverse events.
• Maintain high level of customer service, quality and safety.
• Train employees on trial activities as needed.
• Escalate issues to supervisors and managers.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to play a vital role in safeguarding the wellbeing of clinical trial participants and supporting the highest standards of operational excellence. As a Clinical Safety Technician, you’ll be at the heart of our clinical research operations, ensuring participant safety while contributing to groundbreaking studies. What You’ll Do Here

• Act as a mentor to Clinical Operations team members.
• Ensure the confidentiality of clinical trial participants and sponsors is respected.
• Continuously assess safety improvement opportunities and communicate to departmental management.
• Perform clinical trial activities including but not limited to safety assessments, Investigational Product (IP) administration and blood collection.
• Monitor, document and/or follow-up on participant adverse events.
• Maintain and advocate a high level of customer service, quality and safety within the department.
• May train employees on clinical trial activities associated to their jobs needs.
• Proactively communicate issues and/or problem resolutions to departmental supervisors and managers.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Degree from accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, EMT or equivalent program required.
• Related work experience preferred.
• Required Intravenous Therapy Blood withdraw Certificate with LVN/LPN license
• Required BLS and ACLS certificate
• Good Communication Customer service focused, able to work in fast-paced environment.

What We Offer

The pay range estimated for this position is $28 - $31 hourly. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
