Job summary

Deerparkvet seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician for their Deer Park Animal Hospital in New York. The role involves providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to pets and clients. Responsibilities include patient examinations, administering medications, maintaining medical records, and participating in continuing education. Candidates must hold a Veterinary Technician license. The position offers a pay range of $26.10 to $31.90 per hour and includes comprehensive benefits such as medical insurance, 401(k), and continuing education support.

Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, reviewing care plans, and completing laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Care for patients: take vital signs, collect samples, administer medications and vaccines, and bandage wounds.
• Assist with patient examinations and operations by assembling supplies, securing patients, and providing support during surgery.
• Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and pharmacology to deliver excellent pet care.
• Obtain and verify medications and maintain a safe, clean, and humane environment.
• Maintain medical records, update the database accurately, and communicate patient status to owners.
• Maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and handle inventory and supply orders.
• Participate in continuing education and stay current with professional standards.
• Release patients to owners and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
