Job summary

Small Door Veterinary is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join our Manhattan-based team. You will triage cases, assist doctors, record vitals, prepare samples, and perform in-house diagnostics while upholding Fear Free and AAHA standards in a state-of-the-art setting.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an LVT in a GP setting.
• Availability to work weekends (Sat or Sun).
• Comfortable using computers and online tools.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Team player with a compassionate, client‑facing approach.

Responsibilities

• Triaging and assessing patients, recognizing emergencies.
• Recording vitals and assisting doctors with diagnostics.
• Completing treatments and basic nursing care per doctor.
• Assisting with radiography, sample prep, and in-house labs.
• Preparing and administering medications; maintaining a hospitable environment.

What you'll do

• Triaging

• Basic husbandry and nursing care
• Monitoring changes in patients and providing compassionate care
• Taking blood

• Assisting in and facilitating radiography capture
• Preparing samples for outside reference labs
• Running in-house labs
• Preparing medications
• Administering medications
• Additional responsibilities to maintain a hospitable environment

Who you are

• 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday)
