Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with at least 4 years of experience in a specialty surgery and anesthesia setting.
• Experience with surgical assisting and instrument knowledge.
• Ability to run up to level-5 ASA anesthesia cases independently.

• Administer local and regional anesthesia.

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) – Anesthesia

Location: Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists & 24 HR Emergency Care – Sugar Land, Texas.

Overview

Our surgical team is rapidly growing and we are looking for a talented and motivated Surgery and Anesthesia Technician to join us.

Work with brilliant and caring board certified surgeons, be a part of a team of technicians and surgeons with a positive and engaged culture, and provide high quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Place arterial and central lines, urinary catheters, and NG tubes.
• Administer local and regional anesthesia.
• Perform critical care anesthesia including mechanical ventilation and TIVA.
• Assist with surgical preparation.
• Client interaction and education during initial consultations and dismissals.
• Bandage application and changes.

Preferred Surgical Experience

• Orthopedics and arthroscopy.
• Regular and complex soft tissue.
• Interventional radiology.
• Oncologic cases.

Qualifications

Requirements: LVT with at least 4 years of experience in a specialty surgery and anesthesia setting, knowledge of specialty surgical procedures, surgical assisting experience, instrumentation knowledge, and the ability to independently run up to level-5 ASA anesthesia cases. Experience training junior staff is desired.

Schedule

Four 10‑hour shifts, or three 12‑hour shifts may be available. Day shift Monday to Friday. On‑call with a call‑in fee.

License/Certification

Veterinary Technician License required. Veterinary Technician Specialist not required.
