Job summary

National Veterinary Associates is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician at a feline medical center in Houston, TX. You will work with veterinary professionals to deliver high-quality preventive care for cats and educate clients on wellness plans.

The role emphasizes collaboration, patient safety, and continued growth within a supportive team that prioritizes pets’ long-term health and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist with restraining, vaccines, labs, sedation and surgical procedures, taking x-rays, filling medications.
  • Maintain clean, sterile treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs; follow standard protocols.
  • Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Paw Plan options, medications, and treatments.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems (e.g., Avimark).
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support new and fellow team members.

As a NVA Veterinary Technician, you will work alongside pet health care industry experts to make a difference in the lives of the pets and the clients we serve. Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist the veterinarians and technicians by restraining, pulling up vaccines, packaging labs, running labs, assisting in sedation and surgical procedures, taking x-rays, filling medications, etc.
  • Cleaning duties as assigned
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Paw Plan options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems, including Avimark.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support new and/or fellow team members.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
