Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to support Internal Medicine cases and complex diagnoses. You will assist with anesthesia, patient monitoring, and outpatient treatments while collaborating with veterinarians and staff.

You’ll communicate clearly with pet parents, manage demanding cases, and contribute to high-quality patient care. This full-time role requires weekend/evening availability and a passion for veterinary medicine.

Qualifications

• Has knowledge of basic veterinary practices
• Experience in specialty veterinary medicine—Internal Medicine
• Able to appropriately handle animals
• Able to assist in veterinary medical procedures
• Recent experience in a veterinary practice
• Willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• At least 3 years recent experience in veterinary practice

Responsibilities

• Provide quality pet and client care in an Internal Medicine setting
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet parents
• Assist with anesthesia, patient monitoring, and recovery
• Perform venipuncture and support outpatient treatments
• Apply medical math accurately in daily patient care

Full-time: Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm, with the possibility of staying later based on hospital needs.

About You

You’re a licensed veterinary technician who thrives in a fast-paced Internal Medicine environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you’ll support complex cases through hands‑on nursing care, diagnostics, anesthesia support, patient monitoring, and outpatient treatments while working closely with veterinarians and the broader hospital team.

You communicate clearly with pet parents, stay calm under pressure, and bring strong attention to detail to every case. Your success in supporting Internal Medicine patients through each stage of care matters to you—and your growth and success matter to us.

Role Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years recent experience in veterinary practice
• Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures
• Patient care experience required
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Veterinary Technician license is required
