About You

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) on the Diagnostic Imaging team, you will help support high-quality radiography, CT, and ultrasound procedures within a specialty veterinary hospital. In this role, you will partner with veterinarians, specialists, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service teams to help prepare patients, support safe imaging workflows, maintain accurate records, and provide compassionate care throughout each visit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiography (X-ray), computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound.
  • Prepare, position, and restrain patients for imaging while supporting sedation or anesthesia as directed by the clinical team.
  • Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures to help ensure safety, comfort, and accurate results.
  • Assist with imaging setup, equipment operation, routine quality checks, and reporting of equipment concerns or malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate imaging records, including proper labeling and storage in PACS systems.
  • Communicate with clients, referring hospitals, veterinary teams, and internal departments regarding estimates, patient updates, call-backs, and follow-up needs.
  • Work closely with specialists, radiologists, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service teams to support efficient patient care.
  • Follow hospital, OSHA, and radiation safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and radiation monitoring devices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment.
Qualifications:
  • 1 or more years of experience as a veterinary technician required, preferably in diagnostic imaging, specialty, or emergency medicine.
  • Active Licensed Veterinary Technician credentials required
  • Experience with patient handling, restraint, radiographic positioning, sedation or anesthesia support, and safe imaging workflows.
  • Familiarity with CT, ultrasound, PACS, digital imaging systems, or specialty hospital workflows preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, organization, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes (up to 50+ lbs with assistance)
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and positioning patients
  • Ability to work in environments with radiation exposure (with proper protection)
Work Environment:
  • Specialty veterinary hospital setting
  • Exposure to anesthetic gases, radiation, and animal-related hazards
  • May include evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts depending on hospital needs
