Williamsburg Animal Clinic in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our family of pet-loving professionals. You will assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, anesthesia, and nursing care, while maintaining patient records and communicating treatment plans to clients.

The ideal candidate holds an NY-licensed LVT or RVT, an associate degree in veterinary technology, strong animal-handling skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced hospital.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a valid NY license.
• Associate degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology.
• Proficiency in handling and restraining animals, including stressed or fearful patients.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience using veterinary software for patient records and documentation.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and restrain animals of various sizes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and staff to ensure seamless patient care.
• Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, and surgeries; prep equipment and supplies.
• Administer medications, vaccines, tests, and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgeries and dental procedures.
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including wound care and IV therapy.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate treatment plans to clients.
• Interact with pet owners to explain treatments and address questions.
