Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health's Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC) in Poulsbo, WA is seeking an Emergency & Critical Care Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced team.

This full-time role offers $29.00–$38.00 per hour, shift differentials, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus; operating 24/7 with weekend coverage required.

You will provide skilled nursing care, triage, assist with procedures, monitor ICU patients, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with ER doctors and specialists.

Qualifications

• Active Washington LVT license or eligible to obtain WA licensure prior to start.
• Emergency, ICU, or specialty nursing experience is preferred, though training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Strong venipuncture, catheter placement, and patient monitoring skills.
• Clear communication and strong teamwork; fluent English speaking and reading required.
• Genuine care for patients and a team-first approach on the ER floor.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled technical care to emergent and critically ill patients
• Triage and stabilize incoming ER cases
• Assist the ER and specialty doctors with procedures, diagnostics, and treatments
• Monitor ICU and hospitalized patients
• Administer medications, CRIs, and fluid therapy under doctor direction
• Place IV and central catheters, draw and run in-house labs
• Support anesthesia, sedation, and analgesia for emergency cases
• Keep treatment sheets and medical records accurate and current
• Coach and support assistants and newer technicians on the floor
• Collaborate daily with the ER doctor team, technical staff, and specialty support
• Help sustain a supportive, high-functioning ER floor culture

Schedule:

Full-time and part-time opportunities available. Hospital operates 24/7, including weekends and holidays. Swing Shift: 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM OR Overnight Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Weekend availability preferred.

What You Bring

• Active Washington LVT license, or eligibility to obtain WA licensure prior to start
• Emergency, ICU, or specialty nursing experience is a plus, though we will train the right candidate
• Confident venipuncture, catheter placement, and patient monitoring skills, plus the composure to stay steady during high-acuity cases
• Clear communication and strong teamwork; fluent English speaking and reading skills required
• Genuine care for patients and a team-first approach to the ER floor
