Job summary

Pet Emergency Treatment (PET AK), part of Ethos Veterinary Health, seeks a licensed veterinary technician to join our 24/7 ER team in Anchorage. This full-time role offers shifts 6am-6pm, 6pm-6am, or 12pm-12am with weekend requirements and overtime opportunities.

You will provide emergency nursing care, triage, medication administration, and collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care in a high-volume, AAHA-accredited hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of veterinary technician experience; emergency experience preferred.
• LVT licensure highly preferred.
• Willingness to work overnights and weekends.
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay composed under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in alignment with attending doctors' orders.
• Perform triage of incoming patients, assessing urgency and stabilizing as needed.
• Accurately calculate and administer medications.
• Conduct in-house lab work, sampling, and analysis.
• Place and manage IV catheters, monitor anesthesia, and oversee vital signs.
• Manage patient comfort, monitor recovery, and communicate progress to clients.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

• Veterinary Technician credential (LVT) or licensure, highly preferred
