Job summary

Quality Veterinary Care in Elmont, NY seeks an experienced veterinary technician for a fast-paced small-animal practice. You will assist doctors across wellness, medical, surgical, and dental cases, using modern diagnostics and anesthesia monitoring to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year of clinical veterinary experience.
• Current NY LVT/CVT/RVT or credential-eligible status.
• Weekend shift availability is required.
• Calm, compassionate teammate with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Partner with doctors during wellness, sick-patient, urgent, surgical, and dental cases.
• Triage incoming patients and provide nursing care for stable and hospitalized pets.
• Collect and process blood, urine, cytology, and other lab samples.
• Obtain radiographs and assist with ultrasound and ECG workflows.
• Place IV catheters, administer meds, and maintain records.
• Prepare surgical patients, assist during procedures, monitor anesthesia, support recovery.
• Explain treatment plans and discharge instructions clearly to pet parents.
