Job summary
Ridgetop Animal Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Silverdale team. The role offers diverse exposure across preventive care, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and urgent care, with emphasis on patient advocacy and Fear Free handling.
You will work closely with veterinarians and support staff to deliver high-quality care, mentor assistants, and maintain excellent patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Current Washington State Veterinary Technician License required.
- Experience with anesthesia, dentistry, urgent care or advanced anesthesia is a plus but not required.
- Strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Dentistry and comprehensive dental procedures
- IV catheter placement, venipuncture, and laboratory diagnostics
- Diagnostic radiography and patient positioning
- Medication administration, treatments, and fluid therapy
- Triage and same-day urgent care
- Nursing and monitoring of hospitalized patients
- Advanced orthopedic and soft-tissue surgical support
- Emergency nursing care, stabilization, and CPR when needed
- Client education and communication
- Mentoring and supporting veterinary assistants
- Advocating for Fear Free and individualized patient care
