Job summary

Maple Veterinary Hospital in Michigan is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our fast-paced, compassionate team. You’ll work closely with veterinarians and support staff to deliver safe, high-quality patient care across exams, surgeries, anesthesia, and client education.

Qualifications

  • Comfort working with both cats and dogs

What Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians Do

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you’ll work closely with our veterinarians and support team to provide safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
  • Monitoring anesthesia and supporting patients throughout procedures and recovery
  • Performing laboratory testing and other diagnostic procedures
  • Collecting and preparing patient samples
  • Safely and compassionately handling and restraining cats and dogs
  • Preparing examination rooms and surgical suites
  • Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Monitoring patients and communicating changes in their condition
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed patient medical records
  • Educating clients about treatment plans
  • Providing client education regarding preventive care and home care
  • Supporting veterinarians and fellow team members throughout the day
  • Performing daily cleaning and helping maintain hospital standards
  • Keeping treatment and patient care areas clean, organized, and ready for the next patient

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a credentialed technician who combines strong technical ability with compassion, communication, reliability, and the ability to keep things moving when the hospital gets busy.

  • A current Veterinary Technician license or credential (LVT/RVT/CVT, according to state requirements)
  • Previous veterinary clinic experience preferred
  • Strong veterinary technical skills
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring
  • Confidence with laboratory and diagnostic procedures
  • Experience with radiology and sample collection
