Rhinebeck Equine is seeking a dedicated Hospital Technician to join their multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will provide exceptional care to equine patients, assisting with medical and surgical procedures while enjoying a supportive work environment. Rhinebeck Equine has the largest equine referral hospital and ambulatory service in the Hudson Valley, with board-certified specialists in surgery, internal medicine, theriogenology, and ophthalmology. Position Overview:
As a Hospital Technician, you will play a crucial role in our multi-disciplinary team of boarded specialists. You will help to provide exceptional care to a diverse range of equine patients, including those with medical and surgical colics, critical neonates, colitis, neurologic conditions, elective orthopedic cases, ophthalmic patients, and breeding management cases. Your key responsibilities will include:
Performing physical exams and monitoring patient status
Preparing and administering medications, fluids, and treatments
Passing nasogastric tubes, placing catheters, and assisting with diagnostic procedures
Recording observations and treatments in medical records
Reporting abnormalities to the attending veterinarian
The opportunity to assist with surgeries, nuclear scintigraphy, and other specialized procedures
Contributing to the care and cleanliness of our hospital and patient areas
This is a permanent position offering competitive compensation and top-tier benefits. While full-time is preferred, we are open to part-time candidates as well. Flexibility in your schedule is required.
