Qualifications

  • Current Veterinary Technician License required.
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical support.
  • Proficient in dental radiographs and dental care.
  • Ability to obtain patient histories and vital signs; maintain medical records.
  • Experience with lab testing and sample preparation.

As a licensed veterinary technician, one would be working directly with animals, providing exceptional medical care and detailed monitoring to our patients, communicating with clients, veterinarians, and staff. We are looking for a candidate passionate about animal care, who is looking to be a part of a skilled team dynamic. Other skills and responsibilities include:

  • Provides compassionate, high-quality care to all patients
  • Uses proper Fear Free animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Maintains accurate medical records: charting, documentation, communicating histories, surgical/anesthesia monitoring, etc.
    • Obtains and record patient histories, vital signs, and weights
    • Keeps track of patient details accurately and concisely
  • Presents treatment plans: explaining costs, answering client questions, and educating/training clients
  • Performs surgical and laboratory tasks, uses proper equipment and protocol
    • Administers and monitors anesthesia, including induction/intubation and recovery
    • Takes radiographs, including dental radiographs
    • Prepares samples for testing, both in-house and to reference labs
  • Fills prescriptions and follows specific veterinarian directions
  • Administers vaccines, answers medication questions, gives recommendations as appropriate, administers treatments as instructed, helps with maintenance tasks, and performs blooddraws
    • Keeps track of and manages an appointment schedule
    • Sets-up and breaks-down medical equipment
    • Keeps rooms and treatment area clean throughout the work-day
  • Can multitask, maintain focus, and be flexible in a very fast-paced, emergency room like environment while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Constantly evaluates, prioritizes, and completes tasks by importance
  • Able to complete other tasks as directed
Qualifications + Skills:
  • Current Veterinary Technician License
  • Surgery/Anesthesia Monitoring
    • Performs check-ins, procedure set-up, patient monitoring and recovery
    • Inputs bills and discharges
    • Has experience in laparoscopy, endoscopy, C-sections, orthopedics
    • Assisting with hospitalized patients
  • Dental
    • Scaling/Polishing
    • Dental Radiographs
  • Laboratory
    • Obtains and has ability to run/test samples
    • Proficient in IV Catheter placement, blood draws and microscope use
  • Tech appointments
    • Performs diagnostics, vaccine administration, therapeutic laser treatments, and other veterinary services, as needed by each patient
