Job summary

Animal Emergency and Specialty Center in Poulsbo, WA is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (Emergency & Critical Care) to join our 24/7 team. This full-time opportunity offers competitive pay, shift differentials, and potential $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.

You will work alongside emergency doctors and specialists, monitor critical patients, assist in procedures, and mentor support staff. Washington licensure or eligibility is required; fluent English is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential in good standing or ability to obtain Washington licensure.
• Emergency, critical care, or specialty experience preferred but not required.
• Strong technical and patient care skills with the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients.
• Assist veterinarians with emergency procedures, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Monitor hospitalized and intensive care patients.
• Administer medications, treatments, and fluid therapy as directed.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and patient monitoring.
• Support anesthesia and sedation procedures as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Mentor and support fellow technicians and assistants.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

$29.00–$38.00/hr + Shift Differentials + $5,000 Sign-On Bonus

Full-time opportunity in Poulsbo, WA

Schedule: Full-time and part-time opportunities available. Hospital operates 24/7, including weekends and holidays. Swing Shift: 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM. Overnight Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Weekend availability preferred.

What You Bring

• Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential in good standing or ability to obtain Washington licensure

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; fluent English speaking and reading skills required
