Job summary

Fryeburg Animal Hospital is actively seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join our AAHA-accredited small animal practice in Fryeburg, ME. You will work with a collaborative six-doctor team, delivering high-quality care while mentoring newer graduates.

You’ll be supported with ongoing education, access to internal specialty consultations, and a strong focus on professional growth within a larger network.

Qualifications

  • AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program completion is required.
  • Current state veterinary technician license (LVT) in good standing.
  • Proficiency in nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology and laboratory procedures.
  • Calm, efficient under pressure with strong communication and teamwork.
  • One year of veterinary experience preferred, mentorship available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including nursing, monitoring anesthesia and performing lab work.
  • Lead and mentor team members to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Educate clients on treatments and review medical records with pet owners.

  • Partner with Clients: You'll be a key point of contact for pet owners, educating them on treatments, reviewing medical records, and confidently answering their questions.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • A current state veterinary technician license (LVT) in good standing.
  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
  • A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
  • One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
