Job summary

Buffalo Veterinary Group in Buffalo, NY is seeking a NYS-licensed or nearing-graduation Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and exams. You will work with our in-house Idexx suite, digital dental, radiology, and Ezyvet PMS, delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• NYS LVT license or current enrollment as a veterinary technician student nearing graduation.
• Excellent communication and a warm, friendly demeanor.
• Ability to thrive in a busy hospital environment.
• Experience with veterinary software is a plus; passion for animals required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examinations, surgeries, and routine veterinary care.
• Perform diagnostic tests and lab work for patients.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Monitor anesthesia during surgeries.
• Educate pet owners with a friendly, informative approach.
• Keep medical records organized and up to date.
• Provide comfort and care to patients, including cuddling and treats when appropriate.

In this role, you’ll be the right hand to our veterinarians, ensuring our patients receive the best care possible while keeping the atmosphere friendly and fun. We offer comprehensive, quality medicine, have a full in house Idexx suite, digital dental and general radiology, and Ezyvet PMS.

Some Of What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assisting in examinations, surgeries, and all things vet-med related (yes, including puppy cuddles!)
• Performing diagnostic tests and lab work to help our furry patients
• Administering medications and vaccines-think of it as your superhero duty!
• Monitoring anesthesia during surgery
• Educating pet owners with a smile and a wealth of knowledge
• Keeping our medical records organized
• Offering lots of love and comfort to our patients (and maybe a few treats)

What We’re Looking For:

• A NYS LVT individual, or a veterinary technician student that is approaching graduation.
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, friendly demeanor
• Ability to thrive in a busy environment (you’ll be on your toes, in a good way!)
• Experience with veterinary software is a plus, but a love for animals is a must!
• A genuine passion for pet care and the well-being of our furry friends
