Job summary

Dix Hills Animal Hospital in Town of Huntington, NY seeks a dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our full-time team. You will support veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, while delivering compassionate care to pets and their families.

Candidates should be proficient in animal handling, use veterinary lab equipment, and communicate clearly with clients about diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician in good standing.
• Proven experience assisting veterinarians in exams and surgeries.
• Strong client communication and compassionate patient care.
• Experience with anesthesia induction and monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostics.
• Perform laboratory tests including blood work and urinalysis.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per protocols.
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint and imaging procedures.
• Manage anesthesia administration and monitoring during surgeries.
• Maintain medical records with veterinary software, ensuring confidentiality.
