Job summary

The Burke Animal Clinic seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to support doctors during exams, procedures, and surgeries. You will restrain animals, prep patients, and assist with diagnostic and treatment steps while ensuring client communication.

You must hold a Virginia LVN license and have a strong patient-care mindset, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Holds a valid license to practice as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Virginia.
• Previous on-the-job experience is desirable, but not required.
• Previous animal care background is a plus.
• Must be proficient in all tasks outlined for a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors in medical procedures, prepare patients for surgery, and discuss sedative options with the doctor.
• Administer injections and medications; restrain and handle patients as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and proper patient identification.
• Perform radiographs and operate veterinary equipment as directed.
• Explain home care and follow-up instructions to clients.
• Care for inpatients and maintain a clean, organized hospital environment.
