Licensed/Unlicensed Dental Assistant (Full Time)-Competitive Salary and Stellar Benefits!

Children’s Dental Services is a non-profit agency dedicated to improving the oral health of children from families with low incomes by providing accessible treatment and education in our diverse community since 1919.

Duties:

  • Greet and seat patients, hand dental clinician instruments and supplies, calm patients, write notes in patient’s dental record.
  • Clean, sterilize and assemble instruments, supplies and equipment required for specific dental procedures.
  • Take, develop and mount intra and extra oral radiographs using film and take digital radiographs (training course available for this task).
  • Instruct patients in care of teeth and appliances.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, greet patients/families and process dental records.
  • Help families apply for medical assistance and sliding scale discount programs.
  • Deliver and set up equipment and supplies at the various clinical sites across Twin Cities and beyond.
  • Perform outreach and oral health presentations, attend school-based, health and community fairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including cleaning and maintenance.

*Licensed Dental Assistant:

  • Provide full scope of practice in accordance with Minnesota Dental Practice Act

Qualifications:

  • Ability to assist a clinician in examining and treating patients generally acquired through completion of an approved dental assistant course preferred.
  • Fluency in English required. Bilingual in Spanish, Somali, Oromo, or Hmong is a plus. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds helpful.
  • Work requires travel to various clinical locations within Twin Cities metropolitan area (all clinics are accessible by Metro Transit bus system).

*Licensed Dental Assistant:

  • Completion of an accredited dental assistant course.

  • Unlicensed Dental Assistant: $20.00 - $22.00
  • Licensed Dental Assistant: $28.00 - $30.00

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour, DOQ
