Carver Companies is seeking a licensed marine engineer to join our tugboat operations in the New York Harbor. The role focuses on the safe, efficient operation of mechanical and electrical systems, preventive maintenance, and keeping accurate records.

The ideal candidate holds a U.S. Coast Guard DDE 4000 HP license, has 5+ years of marine engineering experience aboard tugboats or similar vessels, and can work nights, weekends, and holidays. MMC/TWIC requirements apply.

Competenze

Valid U.S. Coast Guard DDE 4000 HP license.
Minimum 5 years of marine engineering experience aboard tugboats or similar vessels.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and marine machinery.
Familiarity with fuel systems, HVAC, steering, and bilge systems.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
TWIC card and MMC current requirements.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Mansioni

Oversee safe and efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems aboard the vessel.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, generators, pumps, and other onboard systems.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, engine logs, and fuel usage.
Ensure engineering operations comply with U.S. Coast Guard and environmental regulations.
Monitor critical systems and respond promptly to mechanical or technical issues.
Work with Captain and crew to support safe vessel operations.
Manage inventory and requisition parts, supplies, and tools as needed.
Participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures.
