Licensed Therapist for High-Risk Team Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences (Clinician Educator)

USC Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences is actively recruiting full-time licensed therapists (PhD/PsyD/LCSW/LMFT/LPCC) to join a diverse and dynamic multidisciplinary team committed to providing excellent clinical treatment, training, and outreach services regarding mental health and wellness. We seek licensed therapists with expertise in dealing with clients at risk or in crisis, strong clinical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, professional environment.

Description of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services at University Park Campus

Located in a state-of-the-art facility in the Engemann Student Health Center on USC's University Park Campus, PBHS@UPC offers enhanced access to mental health care for USC students through evidence-based, solution-focused practices for complex conditions. A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, case managers, and other professionals work together to ensure access to high-quality mental health care for all students. Position Description [Purpose, Scope, and Duties]

PBHS High Risk Team clinicians/therapists provide intensive DBT/CBT individual treatments, routine and urgent intakes, case consultations, and third-party consultations for USC students.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's or higher degree in social work, marriage & family therapy, counseling, psychology, or related field
  • Licensed in California
  • Availability to participate in on-call rotation
  • Experience working with students/clients at risk or in crisis
  • Expertise in brief psychotherapy, stabilization, referral of serious mental illnesses, and crisis intervention
  • Training or certification in DBT and/or CBT
  • Resilient, self-aware, and capable of thriving in a demanding environment
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and multicultural competency
  • Adherence to high ethical standards and professional integrity
  • Desire for professional growth and excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
  • LPS designation
  • Excellent diagnostic and de-escalation skills
  • Experience with issues in late adolescence, including transgender identity, men's issues, sexual trauma, eating disorders, and substance use disorders
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities

This full-time faculty position includes an academic appointment and clinical service in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at USC's Keck School of Medicine, with a salary range of $100,000 - $146,000 plus additional compensation for after-hours coverage.
