Responsibilities

  • Deliver trauma-informed individual, family, and group psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, EMDR) in office and community settings.
  • Author and review PCPs and treatment goals, ensuring Medicaid and managed care compliance.
  • Provide clinical guidance to QPs and CPSS on care planning and interventions.
  • Triage and deliver crisis psychotherapy during acute episodes.
  • Document all direct clinical encounters in 15-minute billable increments.
  • Complete progress notes, summaries, and discharge plans within 24 hours of service.

Education

Salary Range: $32.00 To $45.00 Hourly

Position Summary

The Licensed Therapist provides advanced clinical assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals with complex behavioral health and co-occurring disorders. Operating within the H2021 billing framework , the Therapist serves as the clinical anchor for the multi-disciplinary team, establishing medical necessity and delivering flexible, trauma-informed interventions. This role combines clinical office hours with mobile, community-based psychotherapy to engage high-acuity individuals in their natural environments. [1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]

Key H2021 Responsibilities
  • Clinical Assessments : Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessments to establish formal diagnoses and determine medical necessity for H2021 services.
  • Psychotherapy Delivery : Deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed individual, family, and group psychotherapy utilizing modalities like CBT, DBT, or EMDR in both office and community-based settings. [1 , 2 , 3 ]
  • Treatment Plan Oversight : Author, review, and clinically sign off on Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) and treatment goals, ensuring they meet strict state Medicaid and managed care rules. [1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
  • Multi-Disciplinary Leadership : Provide clinical consultation and guidance to the Qualified Professionals (QPs) and Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) on the care team to ensure alignment of interventions. [1 ]
  • Crisis Psychotherapy : Deliver immediate clinical triage, stabilization, and crisis psychotherapy during acute psychiatric or substance-related episodes. [1 , 2 ]
  • Compliant Time-Tracking : Meticulously document all direct clinical encounters and therapeutic interventions in 15-minute billable increments matching H2021 code standards. [1 ]
  • Audit-Ready Documentation : Complete clinical progress notes, transition summaries, and discharge plans within [24 hours] of service delivery in accordance with state licensing board regulations. [1 ]
Required Qualifications
  • Licensure : Current, unrestricted active state license to practice independently as a mental health professional (e.g., LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LCAS , or state-specific equivalents). Provisionally licensed applicants (e.g., LCSWA, LCMHCA) may be considered depending on agency supervisory capacity.
  • Education : Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related human services field from an accredited university.
  • Logistics : Valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and an excellent driving record for community field travel.
  • Pre-Employment Screening : Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check , sex offender registry screening , and healthcare exclusion list verification (OIG) . [1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical Experience : Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience working with high-acuity adult or youth populations in community mental health settings (e.g., ACT, IOP, or crisis stabilization). [1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
  • Specialized Training : Certified in specific evidence-based practices (such as TF-CBT, DBT, or motivational interviewing) and experienced with local Medicaid managed care authorization processes. [1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]
Compensation & Travel Reimbursement
  • Travel Reimbursement : This position requires travel within the community to meet clients where they are. The agency provides standard mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate for all approved, job-related community transit and client visits. [1 ]
