Job description

The Licensed Therapist is responsible for providing mental health assessments and therapeutic treatment to assigned clients, families, and caregivers. Coordinates care with other providers to ensure the provision of effective and appropriate services. Participates in quality improvement and quality measures as required ensuring all assigned client records are complete reflecting all services provided. Provides community-based outpatient group, individual and family therapy to clients, families, and all relevant caregivers as indicated in the client's Individualized Treatment Plan.

Essential Functions Statement:
  • Conduct initial assessments of client needs and eligibility for services.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans which fully addresses the client's needs, and monitors treatment progress.
  • Provide on-going evaluation, assessment, and direct clinical services to assigned clients, using appropriate therapeutic techniques.
  • Participate in court proceedings, clinical staffing’s, and educations meetings as needed
  • Coordinate and/or provides crisis intervention as needed
  • Complete all required clinical documentation regarding course of treatment within designated time frame. Ensures documentation meets quality and compliance requirements.
  • Consistently updates client files to ensure compliance Medicaid, payer, and company guidelines.
  • Consistently conducts a minimum of billable hours per week as established for position (30 billable hours for full-time status and 15 hours for part-time status).
  • Reviews and responds to emails on a consistent basis, no less than once a day.
  • Adheres to all quality standards and participates in quality improvement and quality assurance measures as required.
  • Participates in department meetings, supervision and required trainings.
  • Acts in accordance with professional and ethical guidelines.
  • Follows all regulations as outlined in the Community Mental Health Services and Limitations Handbook
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations pertaining to confidentiality and HIPAA, and Medicaid Assessment requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in clinical social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or related field. Licensed LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW Required. One year experience in mental health counseling or working with individuals with serious emotional disturbances. Experience may include internships or volunteer work.

Must maintain a valid state driver's license and a clear driving record. Must meet state Level II background screening.

Preferred Qualifications: Two plus years of experience in Mental Health Counseling in a community based or outpatient setting.

Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft office required; Simple Practice and EMR experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment in a controlled atmosphere building. This job also works clients' homes and within the community, where the atmosphere is not controlled by the employer. This position will also spend time traveling in their personal vehicle.

This role routinely uses standard office and medical equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines.
