Job summary

Abraxas Youth & Family Services in Canon City, CO is seeking a Licensed Therapist to provide comprehensive evaluation, assessment and therapeutic intervention to address the psychological, emotional and social needs of youth, families and staff. This regular full-time position includes paid training and a $3,000 sign-on bonus, with DailyPay available.

  • Master’s degree in a human service field.
  • State license is required (LPC, LMSW, LISW) as specified.
  • Familiar with standard business software and electronic health care database programs.
  • ACT 33/34 clearances if required by program; FBI clearance as needed.
  • All trainings required by licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates behavioral and emotional issues of children and adolescents and develops specific behavior modification treatment plan.
  • Provides individual, family, and group counseling under direction of a clinical supervisor.
  • Conducts psycho-educational assessments under supervision.
  • Observes and documents treatment interventions and client progression.
  • Assists with direct supervision of clients and practicum students; provides outreach workshops.
  • Acts as a liaison between client and community resources as needed.
  • Develops treatment plans and updates; participates in data collection and program evaluation.

What You'll Do

As a Licensed Therapist, you will provide comprehensive evaluation, assessment and therapeutic intervention to address the psychological, emotional and social needs to the youth, families and staff.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Evaluates behavioral and emotional issues of children and adolescents and develops specific behavior modification treatment plan.

    Provides individual, family, and group counseling under direction of an appropriate clinical supervisor as required and in accordance with the clients' individualized treatment plan.

    Conducts psycho-educational assessments under the direction of an appropriate clinical supervisor.

    Observes and documents treatment interventions, behavior and client progression.

    Assists with direct supervision of clients and interacts therapeutically as required.

    Supervises practicum students as appropriate.

    Provides outreach workshops and lectures.

    Acts as a liaison between client and community resources as needed.

    Interprets treatment objectives and assists treatment staff to provide integrated services.

    Participates in conferences for the discussion of behavior, diagnosis and client progression as a member of the treatment planning team.

    Develops treatment plans and treatment plan updates.

    Participates in data collection, monitoring, and evaluation activities for the performance improvement program.

    Develops and maintains a current list of resources that includes self-help and self-support groups to ensure comprehensive services to the clients and their families.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field.

    State license is required (LPC, LMSW, LISW) as specified in the addendum based on program licensing/funder requirements.

    Familiar with standard business computer software programs and electronic Health Care Database programs.

    ACT 33/34 clearances if required by program

    FBI clearance, as needed

    All trainings required by licensure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Experience working as a Therapist in outpatient IIC and or Residential Setting
  • Experience in working closely with a clinical team/ MDT
