Ramaker, a 100% employee-owned firm, is seeking a Licensed Surveyor to support fieldwork and office QA/QC across Wisconsin with occasional travel to nearby states. The role blends field expertise with project coordination and collaboration with engineers and CAD staff.
Office work can be remote in a hybrid setup from Madison, WI. The position emphasizes maintaining ALTA/NSPS surveys, plats, and other regulatory documents while advancing surveying technologies and automation.
This is a solid mid-to-senior level opportunity at a 100% employee-owned firm — a meaningful differentiator. The ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) is fully funded by Ramaker, meaning you accumulate equity without out-of-pocket contribution, which can be a significant long-term wealth-building benefit often overlooked by job seekers.
Compensation context: No salary is listed, but Licensed Surveyors in Wisconsin typically earn $65,000–$95,000 annually depending on experience and licensure level. The dual field/office nature of this role and the Wisconsin license requirement suggest mid-to-senior positioning.
Skills developed in this role:
Green flags: Five-time Top Workplace recognition, compressed workweeks, hybrid flexibility for office work, two retirement vehicles (401k + ESOP), and a multidisciplinary firm culture that encourages cross-functional collaboration.
Potential consideration: Year-round outdoor fieldwork in Wisconsin winters is physically demanding — ensure this aligns with your personal preferences before applying. The role does not appear to have a clear management track defined, so clarity on advancement should be explored during interviews.
We are seeking a Licensed Surveyor to support our surveying services through a combination of fieldwork, technical expertise, quality control, and project coordination. This dual field/office position includes hands-on surveying, reviewing and sealing plats, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and other survey documents, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and quality standards.
Fieldwork will primarily be performed throughout Wisconsin, with occasional travel, including overnight stays, to neighboring states. Office responsibilities can be completed remotely, with the option to work from our Madison, WI office in a hybrid or onsite capacity.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors year-round in a variety of weather and site conditions. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and CAD staff to deliver accurate, efficient survey solutions that support client and project needs. The position also offers opportunities to contribute to process improvements and the implementation of emerging survey technologies, automation tools, and data collection methods that enhance accuracy and efficiency.
