Job summary

Adams Recovery Center in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Licensed Substance Use Counselor for a full-time, on-site role. You will conduct individual and group counseling, develop and update treatment plans, and perform clinical assessments to support clients in recovery from substance use disorders.

Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, maintain accurate documentation, engage families when appropriate, participate in case reviews, and contribute to program development and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current state licensure or certification as a Substance Use Counselor (e.g., LCDC-II, LCDC-III, LICDC, or equivalent) and compliance with all applicable professional regulations.
• Demonstrated skills in individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and clinical assessment for substance use and co-occurring conditions.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices in addiction treatment, such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention strategies.
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation, manage caseloads effectively, and use electronic health record systems.
• Familiarity with community resources, social services, and recovery support networks to assist clients and families.
• Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and culturally responsive, nonjudgmental care for diverse populations.
• Associate's, bachelor’s or master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related behavioral health field preferred.
• Experience in residential or outpatient substance use treatment settings and willingness to participate in ongoing training and supervision.
