Job summary

DCC Wellness Center in New Orleans seeks a licensed student counselor to provide individual and group counseling, case management, and crisis response for students. The role supports faculty with mental health questions and maintains confidential records in compliance with FERPA.

Independently licensed in Louisiana (LPC/LMFT/LCSW/LP) or as a psychologist is required, with a Doctorate preferred. Experience in higher education and Title IX/ADA knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required with concentration in Counseling, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Rehabilitative Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Independently licensed in Louisiana (LPC/LMFT/LCSW/LP) or Licensed Psychologist; CRC a plus.
• Doctorate’s degree preferred in Counseling Studies or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct counseling services and case management to students.
• Conduct crisis counseling and triage assessments.
• Assist faculty with mental health questions and support services.
• Maintain confidential student records per FERPA and institutional policies.
• Coordinate with campus partners and participate in Behavioral Intervention Team activities.
