Job summary

Intermountain Health in Butte, Montana, is seeking a Licensed Steam Operator for the Facilities Department at St James Hospital. You will operate and maintain boilers, perform water treatment, and assist with inspections and major maintenance as needed.

Responsibilities include winterizing chillers, troubleshooting HVAC controls, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while documenting all activities. Experience in healthcare settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a steam operator in the state or municipality where work is to be performed.
• Demonstrated abilities in plant operations and maintenance.
• Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above
• A valid drivers license may be required for this position.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair the hospital's boiler and/or chiller systems including water treatment and inspections preparation.
• Perform boiler and chiller teardown and major maintenance with supervision.
• Winterize chillers and cooling towers; troubleshoot HVAC controls.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and accurate documentation of work.
• Apply knowledge of HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, pumps, and air handling devices.
