Job summary

The Autism Academy is seeking licensed, highly qualified special education teachers to join a supportive year-round community school in Ohio. Must be licensed as an Intervention Specialist in Ohio or eligible to become licensed.

Core duties include reporting attendance, developing and following IEP-based lesson plans, monitoring student progress, maintaining safety, and implementing Behavior Plans. A background check (BCI/FBI) is required.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as an Intervention Specialist in Ohio or eligible to become licensed.
• Experience in special education and IEP-based planning preferred.
• Experience with administering state mandated tests.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Report attendance daily to the office.
• Develop and follow IEP-based lesson plans.
• Observe and document student performance and behavior.
• Maintain safe classroom environment and organization.
• Implement Behavior Plans as approved by IEPs.
• Attend staff and teacher meetings.
• Assist and direct staff in toileting and self-help skills.
• Enter data and display professionalism in IEPs.
• Accept and perform other duties as assigned.
