Job summary

Allied Water Services in Illinois is seeking an experienced Licensed Septic Installer to lead residential and commercial septic system installations, replacements, and major repairs. This hands-on leadership role requires reading plans, directing field crews, and ensuring compliance with Illinois codes.

The ideal candidate holds an active IDPH license, can coordinate site layouts and elevations, and uphold safety and quality on every project.

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois IDPH Private Sewage Disposal Installation Contractor License — required.
  • Experience installing residential and/or commercial septic systems.
  • Ability to read engineered plans and soil/site evaluations.
  • Ability to shoot and establish grades in the field.
  • Experience operating excavation and construction equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret site plans, engineered drawings, soil reports, elevations, and benchmarks.
  • Plan and execute septic system installations, replacements, and major repairs.
  • Perform site layout, excavation, trenching, grading, and elevation work for tanks, distribution boxes, piping, pumps, and drain fields.
  • Set conventional and advanced/alternative septic tanks, pump tanks, dosing chambers, and related components to proper elevation and grade.
  • Install, plumb, and glue PVC piping, pressure lines, distribution laterals, and associated system components in accordance with applicable codes and specifications.
  • Direct and coordinate field crews to keep projects safe, efficient, and on schedule.
  • Anticipate site conditions and resolve installation challenges before they become costly problems.
  • Coordinate required inspections with county health departments and other regulatory officials.
  • Ensure completed systems comply with the Illinois Private Sewage Disposal Code and applicable local requirements.
  • Oversee backfilling, compaction, finish grading, and site restoration.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and secure job sites.
  • Identify potential installation issues and communicate proactively with management, engineers, inspectors, and customers.

Allied Water Services is seeking an experienced, dependable Licensed Septic Installer to lead residential and commercial septic system installations, replacements, and major repairs.

IMPORTANT LICENSING REQUIREMENT

Applicants must currently hold an active Private Sewage Disposal Installation Contractor License issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position for an installer who understands the septic installation process from site preparation through final grading. The ideal candidate can read plans, anticipate site and soil challenges, direct field crews, establish accurate elevations and grades, and ensure every installation meets applicable Illinois and local requirements.
