Job summary

St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking a Licensed Senior Security Officer at St. Peter's Hospital for a day-shift, full-time role.

Under the direction of the Lead Security Officer, you will provide armed, uniformed security across SPHP campuses and protect staff, patients, visitors, and buildings. The position requires a NYS armed security license, five years of armed security or related experience, and knowledge of Penal Law and use-of-force concepts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License.
• Unexpired NYS Armed Security Guard License with firearms training.
• Minimum five years armed security experience.
• Five years healthcare/hospital security or five years law enforcement preferred.
• Knowledge of NY Penal Law and Criminal Procedure Law.
• Knowledge of use of force continuum in private security.
• Active police officer certification; officers must obtain NYS Armed Security Guard license within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed, uniformed security presence across SPHP campuses.
• Assess threats and respond to incidents impacting safety of staff, patients, visitors and others.
• Coordinate with law enforcement based on threat assessment and offenses.
• Submit incidents and reports to Lead Security Officer and SPHP leadership.
• Hours may be picked up as needed at our acute care facilities beyond primary location.

Licensed Senior Security Officer - St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time - Days

Under the direction of the Lead Security Officer, is responsible for the performance of all security and safety duties as assigned. Provide armed, uniformed security presence throughout SPHP campuses. Senior Security Officers will assess threats, provide immediate response to, and mitigate offenses against public order, life and safety of colleagues, staff, patients, visitors and others on and within the buildings and grounds of SPHP. Offenses or events requiring investigation and thorough reporting will be made and submitted to Lead Security Officer and other SPHP Leadership. Coordination with law enforcement agencies based on threat assessment and offenses. Pick up hours as the need arises, at our acute care facilities, other than primary work location.

Requirements

• Knowledge and understanding of the use of force continuum and it's application within a private security setting.
• Active police officer certification; active police officers required to obtain NYS Armed Security Guard license within 6 months of hire.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.70

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
