Job summary

The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students (ACES) in Arizona is seeking a Licensed School Counselor (LCSW/LMFT/LPC) to support students with emotional and learning disabilities. You will provide individual and group counseling, participate in IEP meetings, and coordinate with families and staff across two nearby Dysart Integrated campuses in El Mirage.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Social Work or Counseling, a state counselor license, and at least one year of school-based counseling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling (required)
• Masters’ Degree in Social Work or Counseling (preferred)
• Must hold state counselor license
• 1 year experience as a counselor or social worker in a school setting
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor intervention strategies to increase academic success
• Assist with conflict resolution and anger management
• Provide individual and group counseling
• Provide crisis intervention
• Attend IEP meetings and coordinate with families and staff
• Facilitate access to school and community resources
• May facilitate support groups or parenting groups
• Build strong relationships with students, staff and families
• Assist teachers with behavior management and provide in-class support as needed

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling
