Job summary

Smith Pump Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced pump installer to install pump equipment, perform inspections and preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues in customer sites across Texas. The role involves significant field work and on-site problem solving.

You will collaborate with engineers and technicians, require strong leadership and communication, and travel roughly 75% to serve customers on the road. A CDL and pump installation certification are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience as a service technician or mechanic.
• Understanding of water pumps or electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with employees and customers.
• Ability to drive a commercial vehicle daily to job sites.
• Five years of pump field service experience (preferred).
• Certified Pump Installer by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (preferred).
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred).
• Microsoft Office proficiency (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Pump troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Teardown, inspection, reporting, and repair of pumps in the shop.
• Maintenance and repair of tools and equipment.
• Read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
