Role Overview

The Psychologist Peer Review involves applying clinical criteria and benefit plan requirements to cases across Commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare, making clinical and benefit determinations to continue coverage, modify treatment, or issue adverse benefit decisions if criteria are not met.

Work Environment & Schedule

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. with a schedule Monday - Friday, during standard business hours.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review psychological/neuropsychological testing service requests
  • Assess outpatient treatment requests, including extended sessions or single case agreements
  • Handle state-specific Medicaid services (e.g., Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Targeted Case Management, etc.)
  • Review Intensive Outpatient services for Mental Health and Substance Abuse
  • Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and training sessions
  • Enter determinations within federal, state, and local guidelines
  • Conduct clinical reviews such as testing requests, outpatient treatment plans, and appeals for denied services
Qualifications

Required:

  • Licensed doctoral-level Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in your state
  • Current unrestricted license for independent practice
  • 3+ years post-licensure experience
  • Experience working with insurance agencies
  • Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, and Excel

Preferred:

  • Experience in managed care settings and performing Peer Reviews
  • Experience with commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, CPT, and HCPCS codes
  • Clinical experience with higher levels of care, children, adolescents, and substance abuse
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Access databases
Compensation & Benefits

The salary range is $89,800 to $176,700 annually, based on factors such as location, experience, and certifications. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401(k) contributions.
