Qualifications

• One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a skilled Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, to oversee psychological services at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Smithfield. In this role, you will shape policies, support staff development, and guide treatment approaches that improve inmate well-being. This position oversees psychological services programs that support inmate mental health, treatment planning, evaluation, and program development. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, you will perform the following duties:

• Staff Supervision: Lead and guide psychological staff in evaluations, counseling, testing, and crisis response
• Program Management: Develop and maintain psychological services programs and assist in policy creation
• Committee Leadership: Direct key institutional committees that oversee mental health and treatment reviews
• Clinical Oversight: Set clinical competencies, review assessments, and ensure reliable testing standards
• Consultation Work: Provide guidance to staff and specialized units on mental health treatment and case planning
• Facility Representation: Present professional findings in legal proceedings and ensure accreditation standards are met

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

• One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.

Special Requirement:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.

Other Requirements:

• You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. If you possess out-of-state licensure, you must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
