THE POSITION

We are seeking a highly motivated Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections to help oversee our psychology department at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Laurel Highlands. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Licensed Psychologist Manager for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of the psychological services program for SCI Laurel Highlands. Your duties will include coordinating the psychological services program in the institution with other disciplines, developing and writing new policies and procedures for existing programs, and chairing the population Psychiatric Review Team. In this position, you will participate as a standing member of the clinical review team for suicides and attempted suicides. Additionally, you will consult with psychiatry and medical staff and perform psychological testing and evaluation of inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $86,299.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
  • One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, mental retardation or behavioral dysfunction.

Special Requirements:

  • You must have possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
