Job description

Do you want to work with a staff dedicated to providing necessary psychological services?The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Dallas is seeking a highly motivated Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, you will plan, organize, and direct the psychological services program at SCI Dallas. You will develop new policies and perform psychological evaluations of inmates. You will supervise and work with psychological staff performing individual and group counseling and other therapeutic services that supportshort and long term psychological treatment objectives. This role requires effective communication to collaborate with staff from psychiatric services and behavioral management as well as a general desire to promote daily living and social interaction improvement of inmates. In addition, you will chair the Psychiatric Review Team, participate in the Clinical Review Team for suicides and attempted suicides, and maintain security and custody control standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
  • One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, mental retardation or behavioral dysfunction.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • PA residency requirementis currentlywaived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
