Job summary

May Institute in Norwood, MA, seeks a Licensed Psychologist to lead clinical care for students with brain injuries and neurobehavioral disorders. You will collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to deliver individualized mental health and behavioral supports within our school programs.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed practice, risk assessment, IEP guidance, and supervising interns, with opportunities to contribute to research and program development in a mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in clinical, school, or counseling psychology.
  • Active Massachusetts licensure as a Licensed Psychologist.
  • BCBA license or enrollment preferred.
  • Experience with brain injury, neurobehavioral disorders, and mental health needs.
  • Expertise in behavioral assessment and intervention.
  • Collaborative, ABA-informed interdisciplinary work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead case conceptualization integrating mental health, behavior, and neurodevelopment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and help develop IEP goals and interventions.
  • Provide trauma-informed neuropsychological insight to staff.
  • Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to design supports.
  • Assist pharmacology coordination and interpret behavioral data.
  • Contribute to curriculum and planning aligned with cognitive and social-emotional needs.
  • Assess and respond to crises and determine higher levels of care.
  • Supervise interns and fellows in APA-accredited program.
  • Lead staff development on social-emotional and trauma-informed practices.
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives.
