We are seeking a psychologist who is licensed in New York and is willing to obtain a license in Washington DC or Virginia as well. Having PSYPACT or being PSYPACT eligible is a bonus, but not required. This role is fully virtual so the clinician can be located anywhere in the country as long as they have the relevant licensure! This opportunity is ideal for a psychologist who is employed at an academic, medical or other non-profit institution, is seeking to supplement their income and is eager to join the private practice world without the hassle and burden that come with launching and maintaining a private practice.

Please note, this role would not be a good fit for a clinician who has already established their own private practice or whose goal is to build an independent practice. We are seeking someone who is excited to join our team and grow with us long-term!

This is an independent contractor role (compensation reported as a 1099). We are looking for a psychologist who is willing to go in-network with one insurance carrier and potentially an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). We are credentialed with an insurance panel that has the most reasonable payout rates/regulations of the panels we have looked into. The practice will help facilitate the process of credentialing with the insurance carrier and EAP.

Role Description

• Use evidence based interventions (e.g., CBT/DBT/ACT) to treat adults (ages 18+)
• Interest and/or experience with holistic psychotherapies including EMDR, somatic psychotherapy, nutritional psychology, MBSR and/or the use of yoga in supporting emotional wellbeing is ideal
• Clients present with a wide array of psychological challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, life adjustments/transitions) as well as the behavioral difficulties associated with chronic and acute medical conditions (e.g., pain, sleep, cancer, weight related concerns, GI difficulties, women’s health/reproductive psychology, brain injury)
• There is opportunity to offer psychological assessment including psychological evaluations for bariatric, spinal cord stimulator and transplant surgeries
• Psychologists interested in contributing to the development of remote tele-assessment services focused on pre-employment and ADHD evaluations is a bonus
• Experience and/or interest in rehabilitation and health psychology is a plus
• Complete notes on time and in accordance with legal/ethical guidelines of the profession; templates are provided that allow for limited administrative work and note writing
• Consult on difficult cases within a collegial and supportive environment
• Use a HIPPA compliant platform to see clients, document notes, and bill for services
• Attend practice meetings, which are typically 30 to 60 minutes and have been occurring roughly once a month
• Please note you will have the opportunity for case consultation as needed

Requirements

• Completion of an APA approved doctoral program (PhD or PsyD)
• Completion of an APA approved internship
• Completion of a fellowship in your area of specialization is desired, but not required
• Licensed in New York and willingness to obtain licensure in Washington DC or Virginia as we are in-network with an insurance carrier in those states
• Ability to build up to, and maintain, a caseload of an average of at least 10 sessions a week
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to establish strong rapport with clients
• Respond to inquiries and emails promptly (within 48 hours, during business days)
