Job summary

Wellpath in Kentucky seeks a Licensed Psychological Associate to deliver comprehensive mental health services in correctional/detention facilities under supervision. Responsibilities include assessments, therapy, and treatment planning while collaborating with facility staff to ensure quality care.

You will maintain clinical documentation, participate in staff training, and contribute to crisis interventions and policy development to meet professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Licensed Psychological Associate in Kentucky.
  • Experience with mental health delivery systems and diagnostic/treatment knowledge.
  • Strong collaboration with facility staff and adherence to APA/NCCHC/ACA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and consultation services including diagnosis, therapy, testing, and treatment planning under supervision.
  • Ensure ethical practice, participate in case staffing and quality improvement activities.
  • Complete clinical documentation promptly and support staff training on mental health issues.
  • Support 24/7 crisis intervention and notify supervisor of critical incidents.
  • Assist in policy development to meet recognized standards.

How you make a difference

The Licensed Psychological Associate, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, will deliver comprehensive mental health services to patients within correctional and detention facilities. Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, providing therapy, and developing treatment plans tailored to individual needs. This role requires collaboration with facility staff to ensure effective care and support for patients in a correctional setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical and consultation services in line with company policies and standards of the APA, NCCHC, and ACA, including diagnosis, treatment, psychological testing, evaluations, treatment planning, counseling, and crisis management under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist.
  • Ensures that clinical services adhere to ethical and professional standards, and participates in case staffing, care management meetings, and quality improvement activities.
  • Completes clinical documentation professionally and promptly, maintaining data for departmental statistics, and develops goals and objectives for clinical services in consultation with supervisors.
  • Delivers staff training on mental health issues and may assist in the development and refinement of facility policies and procedures to meet recognized standards.
  • Participates in a 24-hour crisis intervention system, promptly notifies the supervising Psychologist of serious incidents, and provides timely updates on clinical concerns impacting clients or the mental health services program.

  • This position is a full-time/on-site position.
  • Candidate must be licensed as an LPA or LPP in the state of KY.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education
  • Master’s degree in psychology.
Experience
  • Experience with mental health delivery systems. Experience in the mental field that indicates knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders and psychological evaluation techniques, including psychological assessment instruments.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Licensed as a License Psychological Associate in the state of Kentucky.
