Thank you for your interest in working with us! Full-Time or Part-Time Licensed Project Architect

Environmental Advisors and Engineers, Inc. (EAE) is seeking a full -or part-time experienced mid-level Licensed Project Architect proficient in Revit to support our experienced architectural team. This work-from-home remote office position offers flexible hours and schedules, employee benefits, employer-provided software and equipment, and opportunities for local fieldwork. The Project Architect position offers opportunities for technical growth, project team leadership, and involvement in all phases of design and construction. The successful candidate will support the architectural team, working closely with the Architectural Department Manager on EAE’s growing portfolio of commercial and industrial building projects, primarily for municipal clients.

Full-time architectural positions are limited to candidates residing in or willing to relocate to the Kansas City metro area.

EAE is a growing consulting firm headquartered in the Kansas City metro area that has been in business for over 28 years. Our multidisciplinary team includes licensed architects, professional engineers, architectural and engineering designers, construction specialists, environmental scientists, and engineering data management and administrative support personnel.

Responsibilities and Duties

Assist with architectural projects through schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction phases.

Assist in the preparation of condition assessments, feasibility studies and other reports relating to architectural projects.

Prepare drawings or mark-ups of drawings in Revit and Bluebeam for architectural projects based on sketches and layouts; assist in design development of construction documents as part of the EAE design team.

Research and document solutions to design challenges as requested by Project Managers and design staff.

Assist with preparation of specifications.

Assist in project management tasks on architectural projects.

Assist with cost estimates, proposals, and invoices.

Adhere to discipline, client, and company drafting standards and procedures.

Coordinate with the design team’s MEP/ Structural sub-consultants and clients.

For full-time candidates, attend on-site project meetings.

Attend virtual project meetings.

Provide technical and quality control support to EAE’s Project Managers.

Review shop drawings and submittals.

For full-time candidates, participate in field investigations.

For full-time candidates interested in construction phase observation services, assist the project team in construction phase observations.

Required Qualifications For All Candidates

Bachelor and/or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited program.

Minimum of 6 years’ experience in commercial architectural design.

Professional Architectural License in Missouri and/or Kansas or the ability to obtain licensure in both states within six months of hire date.

Experience in construction phase RFI and submittal reviews.

Experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance on architectural projects.

Advanced Skills and extensive experience in REVIT, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Bluebeam, and Outlook.

Skills to operate basic office equipment (printers, scanners, computers, and telephone systems).

Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

Ability to primarily work between the hours of 8am and 5pm Central to be available for internal team calls and project team meetings.

Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.

Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively both in a team and individually.

Excellent technical writing skills.

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Preferred Qualifications For Full-Time and Part-Time Candidates

Home office in KC Metro with high-speed internet access.

Experience in MEP and Structural Coordination.

Experience in ADA assessments and design of ADA upgrades.

Experience in Project Management on architectural projects, including scoping, cost estimates, proposals, internal technical review of design documents, invoices, staff forecasting.

Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Twinmotion and/or Lumion.

Experience with IECC 2021 compliance.

Current LEED Certifications.

Experience in Architectural projects for the City of Kansas City, MO and/or the City of Wichita, KS.

Experienced in Architectural design of water and wastewater-related buildings.

Experience with product research aiding the generation of technical specifications.

Experience in construction administration tasks on architectural projects and ability to assist with architectural construction observations.

Experience in conducting Facility Condition Assessments.

Additional Required Qualifications for Full-Time Candidates

Home office in the Kansas City Metro with high-speed internet access, or willing to relocate to this area at no cost to the company.

Experience and ability to climb ladders and assist with roofing observations/inspections.

Ability to learn quickly and willingness to support a variety of other consulting engineering and construction monitoring tasks.

A variety of other project tasks may be available, depending on location, credentials, and interest, such as field investigations, construction monitoring, data analysis and management, environmental project support, etc.
