Job description

Eventus WholeHealth delivers an integrated model of care to adults residing in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities through a network of healthcare providers including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistants, and in-house Support Staff.

We are seeking a Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist to join our team! You will provide recovery-oriented support and case management services to residents of long-term care facilities and their families. Opportunities for future transition to counseling services may be available. Our care addresses issues from anxiety and depression to severe mental illnesses and end-of-life concerns. As part of a multidisciplinary team, our clinicians significantly impact residents' quality of life by solving problems, delivering clinical care, and providing a vital link in care for this vulnerable population.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Therapeutic Behavioral Services by consulting with a licensed clinician to meet individual needs.
  2. Develop service plans for supports or care coordination, including healthcare and behavioral health treatment plans.
  3. Implement linkage, interventions, treatment options, skills restoration, and crisis prevention services.
  4. Deliver services to individual or group clients.
  5. Train support staff on client triggers, de-escalation, and interventions per treatment plans.
  6. Foster positive relationships with outside contacts.
  7. Meet with Resident Care Coordinators or staff to review resident needs and communicate findings.
  8. Maintain open communication with facility staff and adhere to organizational policies, legal, and ethical standards, including HIPAA compliance.
  9. Conduct yourself professionally at all times.

Qualifications/Education:

Master’s degree in counseling or marriage and family therapy, with eligibility for licensure in the practicing state. Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists are preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Population-specific intervention strategies following treatment plans.
  • Regulations governing behavioral health practice.
  • Organizational policies and procedures.

Skills Required:

  • Data gathering and analysis of physiological, socioeconomic, behavioral, and emotional information.
  • Training in social/emotional well-being, stress, and anger management, and life skills.
  • Effective evaluation, advice, intervention, and referral skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High initiative, judgment, and discretion.
  • Effective relationship-building abilities.

Abilities:

  • React calmly in emergencies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members.
  • Evaluate and recommend quality improvements.
  • Handle sensitive information confidentially.
