Job summary

SWLA Center for Health Services seeks a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to provide and oversee psychosocial assessments, counseling, crisis intervention, and case management within the Behavioral Health department. The LPC will document patient diagnoses and education in the EHR, initiate behavioral interventions, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

The candidate should hold a Master's or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling, a Louisiana LPC license, and meet CME/CEU

Qualifications

Master's or Doctoral degree in the Mental Health Counseling field.
Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana (unrestricted, current).
Maintain CME/CEU requirements for licensure in Louisiana.
Minimum of one year experience required.

Responsibilities

Perform psychosocial evaluations and assessments.
Provide counseling therapy and crisis intervention.
Document diagnoses and education in EHRs.
Coordinate with Behavioral Health team and resources.
Apply evidence-based therapeutic orientations to cases.
Maintain rapport with clients and supports.
Utilize DSM/ICD in treatment planning.
Collaborate with community resources and care providers.

JOB TITLE: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

SUPERVISED BY: Behavioral Health Director

SUMMARY:

provide, oversee, and/or administer a wide range of psychosocial evaluations/assessments, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, resourcing, and case management services which require a high degree of independent decision making and program administration; record appropriate documentation of services including patient diagnosis and education, as well as in the electronic health record; initiating and implementing behavioral interventions; Work is performed in an office setting.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Master's or Doctoral degree in the Mental Health Counseling Field;
2. Possess and maintain Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana which must be unrestricted, current, complete, and active;
3. Maintain CME/CEU requirements necessary for license renewal in Louisiana
4. Minimum of one year experience required
