Qualifications

Job description

The Outpatient Therapist provides mental health and substance use disorder outpatient services to adults and families in accordance with agency policies, Medicaid requirements, and DBHDS licensing regulations. Responsibilities include completing clinical assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and providing individual, family, and group therapy services to individuals referred for outpatient treatment.

The Outpatient Therapist collaborates with psychiatric services and other interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care and participates in treatment team meetings. The position maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record, including assessments, treatment plans, service documentation, reviews, and required authorizations. The therapist participates in regular supervision and maintains compliance with applicable regulatory, documentation, and payer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment services to adults and families at the agency or in designated community settings, including the jail, for individuals referred through self-referral or external agencies.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services and monitor caseload to ensure services meet clinical criteria, authorization requirements, and treatment needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record, including service notes, treatment plans, assessments, reviews, and other required documentation
  • Facilitate and coordinate Substance Use Disorder Intensive Outpatient (IOP) groups, including preparation of group materials and implementation of evidence-based or approved treatment curriculum.
  • Conduct clinical assessments for individuals referred for mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment to determine service needs and support treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement person-centered treatment plans that address identified needs, monitor progress toward goals, and update plans as required
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and collaborate with psychiatric services and other providers to support coordinated care.
  • Coordinate referrals and link individuals and families to appropriate community resources and supportive services to promote overall health and recovery.
Schedule

Hour of Operation: Mon- Fri 8:30a-5p

  • Will be working 20-30 hours/ week within the hours of operation
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited college or university (required).
  • Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder services in an outpatient or community-based setting is preferred.
  • LPC or LCSW or License eligible (required)
