Job summary

The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia in Dublin, GA seeks a Licensed Professional Counselor for a full-time role at the Adult Outpatient Clinic. The counselor will conduct intake assessments, provide counseling and psychotherapy, and link clients to resources within a recovery-based behavioral health framework.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in a related field, a Georgia professional license, and a valid GA driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or related field.
  • Active Georgia license to provide mental health services (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse communities
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Office Products
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines accordingly

Responsibilities

  • Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families using evidenced-based interventions and prepares treatment/discharge plans.
  • Collects data via interview/case history and evaluates to determine therapeutic approach.
  • Manages a specialized caseload with case assessments and discharge planning as applicable.
  • Provides crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.
  • Follows up to assess reliability/validity of treatment and suggests modifications.
  • Consults with other agencies and professionals regarding records and responsibilities.
  • Collaborates with therapists and staff; refers clients to appropriate services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

LOCATION: Dubli n, GA

The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia's Adult Outpatient Clinic is seeking a qualified individual to serve as our next Therapist. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling intake assessments related to delivery of mental health care to assigned clients at the designated site and will provide resources to patients for their individual needs.

Responsibilities of the Therapist:

  • Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate to the position using evidenced-based interventions as needed and appropriate per diagnosis and session content; prepares treatment plans, biopsychosocial, discharge plans, required screenings and assessments, per governing and regulatory bodies, and follow-up care programs; provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.
  • Collects data about patients through interview, case history, and/or observational techniques; evaluates data to identify causes of problems and to determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other specialists.
  • Provides casework management of a specialized caseload, as appropriate to the individual position's requirements; performs research and case assessments; prepares individualized studies for admission, placement, and/or discharge, as applicable.
  • Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in a crisis condition and for those with serious disturbance problems.
  • Follows up to determine reliability and validity of treatment used; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and service delivery.
  • Consults with other legal and treatment agencies and individuals in relation to patient/client records, rights, and responsibilities.
  • Consults with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework; refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required.
  • Other duties as assigned
