University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for day shift in Baltimore. The position requires working 3 twelve-hour shifts from 7a to 7p, with every third weekend, providing compassionate, patient-centered nursing care under supervision of an RN or Provider.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, medications, wound care, documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure safety and quality of care.

Qualificações

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Education Program approved by the State of Maryland is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsabilidades

• Provides direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, performing wound care, obtaining specimens for laboratory examinations, and carrying out provider orders for routine treatments, in accordance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act.
• Monitors patients for changes in condition and promptly reports concerns to supervising clinicians.
• Collects patient health information and documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Assists RNs and providers with examinations, procedures, and treatment plans.
• Provides support for patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, and care plans.
• Maintains infection control standards, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Maintains medical supplies, equipment, and inventory as needed.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider (MD, NP, PA, etc.). This role is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical support, ensuring patient safety, and promoting wellness through skilled nursing practices, education, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
